About Us

Created in 2009, in São Paulo, Brazil, with a strong aim in international coproductions and decolonization cosmovision projects, Miríade Filmes is the production company of the director Beatriz Seigner, that has been the major producer in all her films, including the sucessfull feature films Los Silencios (Brazil, France, Colombia), coproduced with Cine-Sud Promotion by Thierry Lenouvele and Dia-fragma Fabrica de Peliculas by Daniel Garcia, premiered at Cannes Directors Fortnight in 2018, winner of dozens of prizes and released in over 40 countries around the world, Bollywood Dream (Brazil, India) coproduced with Rattapallax by Ram Devineni and the Prasad Studios in India, premiered at the Oficial Competition at São Paulo IFF 2009 and Busan IFF 2010, and over 20 festivals around the world, producer of the short film Olga’s Family, that integrates the feature film Neighbours (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) produced by Jia Zhang-Ke and premiered at Pyngiao and São Paulo IFF 2019 and the documentary Between Us, A Secret (Brazil, Burkina Faso, Mexico) shot in Mali to be released in 2020.

Beatriz Seigner is the writer, director and producer of the feature film “Los Silencios” (Brazil, Colombia, France) shot in the border between Brazil, Colombia and Peru, premiered at La Quinzaine des Realizateurs in Cannes 2018, claimed by Hollywood Reporter, Variety and Screen International as one of the best films of the festival this year, winner of the Impact Award by Ai Weiwei at Stockholm Film Festival, the Best Director and Critics Prize at Brasilia Film Festival, Best Script and Special Jury Prize at Lima IFF, Best Artistic Contribution at NuevoCine Latinoamericano in Havana, Cuba, Spanish Cooperation Prize at San Sebastian IFF, UNESCO Honour Mention at Goa International Film Festival of India, CICAE prize (International Confederation of the Art and Essays Cinemas) at Toulouse Cinelatino.

 

She is also the writer-director of the episode “Olga’s Family” that integrates the feature film Neighbours (2019) produced by the Cannes Palme D’Or winner, Chinese director Jia Zhang-Ke and directed by worldwide award winning talents from the BRICS countries.

 

She is also the writer, director and producer of the feature film “Bollywood Dream” the first Indian-Brazilian film co-production (Busan International Film Festival – Official Selection 2010, and São Paulo International Film Festival 2009 – nationally released on the cinema theaters in 2011), and of the short-films made at the Kinoforum labs “Uma Menina como outras Mil” (São Paulo Int. Short Film Festival 2001), “Roda Real” (São Paulo Int. Short Film Festival 2004) and “Indias” (2005).

 

She is also the director of the short films made at the Kinoforum workshops "Uma Menina como estas Mil" (São Paulo Int. Short Film Festival 2001), "Roda Real" (São Paulo Int. Short Film Festival 2004) and "Indias" (2005)

 

As a scriptwriter she worked on feature film scripts for cinema directed by Walter Salles, Daniela Thomas, Sergio Machado, and documentary Tv Series scripts for HBO, GNT, Canal Brazil and SescTV directed Heloisa Passos, Katia Lund, Maria Rocha, Vinicius Reis, João Vargas Penna and Carlos Alberto Jr.

 

The 13 episodes TV Series for SescTV written by her, “Caminhos” won the TAL prize for best TV series in Latin América in 2013. She is also the funder of the film production house Miríade Filmes, the film distribution company Descoloniza Filmes and counsel member of the publishing house Autonomia Literária.
